Sadly, I’ve only been able to get down to #OccupyHouston twice. You know the old saying: “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.”

Both times, though, I’ve enjoyed it immensely; much more than I could have anticipated. It takes me a while to feel comfortable in a group of total strangers, but no one is off-putting, and everyone I’ve met is very welcoming.

I’ve met people I would never otherwise have met, had conversations I’d never otherwise have had, and come away with new ideas and insights I could not have acquired any other way.

I cannot encourage you folks out there enough. Visit, look around, chat, introduce yourselves, or wait for someone to greet you. You absolutely will not regret it.
