Quite a bit has been going on at #OccupyHouston (see scheduled events from last week), but there is little new posted on the site in the way of reporting.
The first section below the jump is a simple meeting schedule for Nov. 21-24.
Below that, in order to provide an idea of the goings-on at the Occupation, I have gone to the #OccupyHouston Twitter account and copy/pasted their timeline of Tweets and re-Tweets (after the jump), to give you some sense of real-time communication over the last several days.

Occupy Houston is the local observance of the ongoing Occupy Wall Street movement, which was hatched by the Canadian magazine Adbusters, and while the campaign has certainly ruffled the feathers of municipalities across the United States, the Houston chapter seems to have it’s sights set on more sustainable actions. Sadly, Michael Moore (aka @MMFlint) has so far been unable to appear at OccupyHouston, in spite of tentative promises that this might be possible.

When I was at ApolloCon XI in Houston this past summer, I attended a panel discussion(1) entitled “Zombies, Vampires and Werewolves, Oh my?” It posed an interesting question:
What the big deal? Why are we obsessed with part human monsters? Do we see a part of our own humanity in them? A discussion of the fascination with these myths, also why they aren’t new trends, just old ones revised. Do they take on different forms based on society’s current issues?
