My guest tonight is Kit O’Connell (@KitOConnell), a gonzo journalist from Austin, Texas where he works as an editor and correspondent for Firedoglake. After joining Occupy Austin in November 2011, he participated in Occupy actions in Chicago, Houston, San Antonio and New York City including the Houston Port Shutdown and the September 2012 anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. Since the movement’s peak, Kit was part of the struggle for women’s rights against the Texas Legislature and organized grassroots support for the victims of the Austin Halloween Flood.
