For the purposes of this show, I operate on two mottoes:
- You’re entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts;
- An educated electorate is a prerequisite for a democracy.
GUEST(S): Niko Letsos, Houstonian for Texas’ 2nd Congressional District
Niko Letsos is the Democratic Candidate for Texas’ 2nd Congressional district, and is running against long-time incumbent Ted Poe. Niko teaches mathematics in an economically disadvantaged, minority high school here in Texas’ Second District. He has previously taught college-level economics and U.S. History to Houston’s most at-risk students. This first-hand experience with the Second District’s neediest children and their families has served as a huge inspiration. Niko and his wife, Alyssa, have both devoted their entire careers to improving the education system in our nation.
Niko earned his bachelor’s degree in under two years from University of Texas at Austin. Double-majoring in Government and History, he graduated Summa Cum Laude and immediately returned to Houston to give back to his community.
